Turn in your HELA homework. No exceptions.
Go over together tentative forms:
Syllabus, Safety, etc.
Cookbook lab: Strawberry DNA extraction.
(Cookbook lab means we will just follow directions in lab to model technique) (However, be sure and make some observations as you are going through the process) We will get oriented with the lab, supplies, our routine, my expectations, cleanup.
If we have time, we will start on the next A day's schedule. (This can be expected anytime we get finished. We move on. No idle time. So many things to do and I only see you every other day)

Wednesday, August 20, 2014 -
Turn in your forms.
We will go over together a powerpoint on the process of INQUIRY. This will help you in some future labs and also, hopefully in Senior Seminar.
Then you will be design your experiment for Friday's fruit lab. Your design template must be approved by me before you leave. Yes, your design, not mine. You will develop a question, form hypotheses based on observations (What were some of the things you were thinking about when doing the Strawberry DNA extraction?) and research, write procedures, run the experiment, collect data, analyze the data, and make conclusions.

Friday, August 22, 2014
Run your experiment, collect data, etc. Must be finished with experimentation, data collection, etc. today. Have everything done, so that you are only assembling your mini-poster during the first half of the next class period.
